The Challenge //03

Building a portfolio that sells the designer without overselling the person.

Matteo Ciancio
Key Challenges

Creating a visual identity for yourself is harder than for a client: no brief, no boundaries, full accountability. The challenge was building something that felt both personal and professional, without becoming self-indulgent.

The site needed to do more than look good: it needed to convert. Every section was structured to guide a potential client from curiosity to contact, following a clear narrative arc.

Using Framer not just as a builder but as a design environment, pushing interactions, animations and layout beyond templates to create something that felt truly custom.

Every designer has a portfolio. The real challenge was making this one impossible to ignore, not through noise, but through a clear point of view and a visual language strong enough to be recognizable at a glance.

Design Approach //004

Editorial-led, motion-aware, brand-first.

Matteo Ciancio detail 1

Typography as identity

The typographic system does most of the heavy lifting: oversized headlines, intentional hierarchy, and a tone of voice that's direct without being cold.

Minimal but not empty

Negative space is used deliberately. Each section breathes, giving the work room to speak instead of competing with the layout.

Motion with purpose

Scroll animations and hover states aren't decoration: they guide attention and reward curiosity, making the experience feel alive without distracting from the content.

Final Outcome //04

A live portfolio that positions Matteo as a strategic creative, not just an executor.
